Bill O'Reilly had advice for the two candidates after the flap over President Obama's conversation with the Des Moines Register: man up.
The Fox News host was on David Letterman's show Wednesday to promote his book "Killing Kennedy." O'Reilly was on a roll, joking about Donald Trump and political ads and hammering the presidential debates.
When Letterman brought up the Obama campaign's initial refusal to go on record with the Des Moines Register (it later reversed its decision and released the transcript), O'Reilly said that the situation made no sense to him.
"Look, all of this stuff, I don't understand why Romney and Obama, with all due respect to both of them, why dont they just be men. Be real men," he said.
"Like you and me," Letterman responded.
"Be tough guys," O'Reilly continued. "Just answer the damn question!"
He mocked the candidates' squabbling with each other. "If the Des Moines Register wants to ask you a question, just go in, sit down and answer them," O'Reilly said.
