Simon Cowell is reportedly grooming Carmen Electra for a judging role on "America's Got Talent." According to the New York Post, the music mogul was lobbying for Electra to join Howard Stern, Sharon Osbourne and Howie Mandel last season, but the network reportedly vetoed the idea. Now that Osbourne has quit the show, however, Electra might be back in contention.

Cowell reportedly told the Post last winter that he hoped to add "somebody younger. A girl. Someone who will not be afraid of Sharon [Osbourne] and Howard and fight for a different type of act than they would" to the judges' table. Adding fuel to the fire, the pair have been spotted together in Los Angeles in recent months and are rumored to be dating.

At this point, the "America's Got Talent" judging panel could look very different next year, since Mandel and Stern are not yet confirmed to return to the show. “Howard very much wants to come back,” a source told the New York Post. “But he is waiting to see who else is going to be on the panel.”

Producers have a little more time to secure judges for next season, at least; auditions for "AGT" Season 8 begin in Los Angeles in November, but successful auditionees won't appear before the judges until February.
