'Parks & Recreation': Ben Proposes To Leslie (VIDEO)

'Parks & Rec' Proposal!

"Parks & Recreation" pulled off a memorable, heart-warming "Halloween Surprise" for its fans Thursday night. Ben and Leslie have spent most of the season apart, as he was off in Washington working on a campaign. But when he came back to Pawnee, he was carrying a ring, and it didn't take too long for him to propose.

Ben had been offered the chance to head up another campaign in Florida while Leslie was signing a lease on a house they were supposed to move into together back in Pawnee. Leslie was genuinely disappointed, but she wasn't going to stand in the way of his career. Thankfully, it never came to that.

With Ben headed back to DC and them planning to talk about their next step over the phone, Leslie headed to the house for one last goodbye. But then, Ben rounded the corner. He'd not only come to see her, he'd come to get down on one knee.

In the middle of his proposal, Leslie interrupted him twice, but not because she was going to turn him down. She was savoring the moment. As she said, "I need to remember every little thing about how perfect my life is at this exact moment."

It was easily one of the most beautiful, and perfectly in-character proposal moments ever portrayed on television. It had the staff at E! Online "having some major fan girl freak-outs happening," while EW's writer admitted to gasping when Ben arrived, and tearing up as the scene played out.

Now fans can watch Leslie Knope master the art of planning a wedding on "Parks & Recreation," Thursdays at 9:30 p.m. ET on NBC.
