Sir Ian McKellen is TV-bound with "Vicious Old Queens" for ITV.

According to The British Comedy Guide, McKellen and Derek Jacobi will co-star in the sitcom about an elderly homosexual couple living in Covent Garden. "Family Guy" writer and producer Gary Janetti wrote the project, which is not an American show, but it could find its way to US shores. "Vicious Old Queens" will be six 30-minute episodes.

McKellen recently spoke about how being gay made him a good actor. "[W]e spent so long pretending to be straight, to be someone else, that eventually we became very good at it," McKellen said, according to Business Insider.

While known primarily for his film work, McKellen's other TV credits include "The Prisoner," "Coronation Street" and several TV movies.
