Georgia Polls 2012: Closing Time, Opening Time, And Where To Vote

It's just about time for residents of Georgia to head to the polls and cast their ballots.

Here's what you need to know about voting in Georgia on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012.

The closing time for Georgia polls is 7 p.m. Eastern Time; however, anyone who is wating in line at 7 p.m. will be able to vote, according to the state of Georgia's website.

Opening time is set for 7 a.m.

Not sure where to vote? The website of Georgia's Secretary of State has a handy polling place finder.

Keep in mind Georgia requires voters to show photo identification when they vote in person.

The winner of Georgia in the presidential race will receive 16 electoral votes. The state has voted for the Republican presidential candidate every year since 1996 and six of the last seven races.
