Idaho Polls 2012: Closing Time, Opening Time, And Where To Vote

Idaho, are you ready to vote?

It's that time. Here's what you need to know about voting in Idaho on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012.

The closing time for Idaho polls is 8 p.m. local time. Part of the state finishes an hour ahead of the rest of the state due to time zone, but in both parts polls will close at 8 p.m. locally.

Opening time for polls is set for 8 a.m. local time.

The Spokesman reports that a heavy turnout is expected.

"Certainly we think the presidential year obviously drives turnout," Idaho's Secretary of State Ben Ysursa said.

The winner of Idaho in the presidential race is awarded four electoral votes. The state has voted for the Republican presidential candidate for 10 consecutive presidential elections.
