Diane Sawyer Sips Red Wine, Is Gorgeous, Imperfect And Awesome In Old 'Primetime Live' Footage (VIDEO)

WATCH: Diane Sawyer Is A Red Wine-Sipping Badass On 'Primetime Live'

On Election Night, Twitter exploded with an unsubstantiated rumor that seasoned news anchor Diane Sawyer was drunk on-air. Whether or not it's true -- and honestly we were so exhausted and frenzied that night, we can't really blame her for seeming out of it -- what we do know is that in the aftermath of the controversy, Radar Online dug up some incredible vintage footage of the journalist on set.

Sawyer was the co-anchor of ABC's "Primetime Live" between 1989 and 1998, though it's unclear exactly when this unaired video was recorded. (We've been trying to surmise based on her fabulous yellow blazer and statement broach.) Before she goes on-air, Sawyer sips a glass of red wine, fishes through her bag for prescription medication and then comments on an unknown woman's predilections. "I said, too bad she's crazy," Sawyer says, and then proceeds to mime drinking alcohol and taking drugs.

After watching the video, we had a few thoughts:
a) Leisurely sipping a glass of red wine at work sounds great.
b) Pills + wine usually isn't a great idea, but when you consume both, then discuss someone else's drinking and recreational drug use, it is pretty comic.
c) We agree with Jezebel's Dodai Stewart -- the woman looks GORGEOUS!
d) Even smart, accomplished, elegant people gossip at the office.
e) Not even Diane Sawyer is perfect (see b. and d.), so we can all stop trying to be.
f) We want to hang out with her.
