Update On Voting For Millennial Impact Challenge

On Tuesday, America visited the polls to decide who will lead our nation for the next four years as president. Another election was scheduled to take place this week. Huffington Post readers were to decide which five innovative ideas for social impact, submitted by young leaders in the Millennial Impact Challenge, should receive $50,000 in funding.

However, due to Superstorm Sandy we have decided to push the voting period back by a week to give the selection committee, especially those in the New York area, enough time to carefully review all 214 submissions. Five of the entries from the established track will automatically be awarded $10,000 each, and 10 semi-finalists selected from the idea/start-up track will compete for your vote.

Voting will now be open from Nov. 14 through 11:59 p.m. EST on Friday, Nov. 24. Please check back during the voting period to help select our winners.

We'll announce the winners on November 27, which is also #GivingTuesday, a campaign designed to counterbalance the commercial "holidays" of "Black Friday" and "Cyber Monday" and kick-off the holiday philanthropic spirit.
