'The Carrie Diaries' Premiere Date Revealed

Carrie Bradshaw will return to TV this January. The CW announced "The Carrie Diaries," the "Sex and the City" prequel series about a teenaged Carrie Bradshaw played by AnnaSophia Robb, will premiere on Monday, January 14 at 8 p.m. ET.

"90210" will move to 9 p.m. ET.

Set in 1984, "The Carrie Diaries" follows 16-year-old Carrie Bradshaw as she adjusts to life after the death of her mother. Her younger sister Dorritt (Stefania Owen) is on a rebellious kick and their dad Tom (Matt Letscher) is overwhelmed. In the first episode, Tom gets Carrie an internship at a law firm in Manhattan, and thus the greatest love of Carrie's life begins.

The show also stars Ellen Wong, Katie Findlay, Chloe Bridges, Austin Butler, Freema Agyeman and Brendan Dooling.

"The Carrie Diaries" is based on the series of novels from Candace Bushnell and is executive produced by Bushnell, Josh Schwartz, Stephanie Savage, Len Goldstein and Amy B. Harris. Harris, a veteran of "Sex and the City," wrote the pilot.
