Lindsay Lohan, Jay Leno: Actress's New Publicist Books Fluff Interview With 'Tonight Show' Host (UPDATE)

Lindsay Lohan's New Publicist Books Fluff Interview With 'Tonight Show' Host

Lindsay Lohan managed to find a new publicist -- one who is intent on getting the actress good press.

According to the New York Daily News, Tej Bhatia Herring will now be handling the 26-year-old's publicity, and she's already taken the reins to try to steer Lohan into a more favorable light.

Last week it was reported that Lohan's team backed out of a scheduled interview with Barbara Walters for an episode of ABC's "20/20." Lohan was supposed to sit down with Walters to promote her new Lifetime movie, "Liz & Dick," but according to E! News, it would have been coupled with a no-holds-barred talk that would have touched on Lohan's personal struggles.

The interview was booked by Lohan's former publicist, but Herring reportedly wasn't comfortable with her client sitting in the hot seat, but she's has no problem with Lohan being interviewed -- as long as they don't ask the tough questions.

On Friday, NBC announced that Lohan would appear on "The Tonight Show" on Nov. 20 to promote her Liz Taylor biopic, which airs on Nov. 25.

The choice of interviewer makes perfect sense, since Leno is almost guaranteed not to ask Lohan the hard-hitting questions about her partying, legal problems or family issues.

Lohan's new publicist seems to have a plan to rehabilitate her client's image, and that doesn't include making her explain any of her recent or past exploits.

UPDATE: A source close to Leno revealed that Lohan did not cancel her interview with Barbara Walters for the "Tonight Show," as her appearance has been booked for more than a month.
