How To Clean A Can Opener With Wax Paper

With Thanksgiving rapidly approaching, you’ll probably be reaching for your can opener more frequently -- especially if you’re not exactly one for making treats from scratch. If you’re finding your device's wheels are looking a little, well, gross after so much usage, try this clever trick from Talking Dollars And Cents on how to clean a can opener.

All you have to do is place a piece of wax paper between the gears and turn the key as you normally would. The paper should remove lingering food and the wax will help ensure a smoother opening.

This trick won’t just be good to know during the holiday season. It will last you all year ‘round as you prepare tons of goodies -- with a little help from some store-bought cans.
