Bobby Brown Shares Guilty Pleasures And His Question For Kim Kardashian For HuffPost's #nofilter

Bobby Brown Has A Question For Kim Kardashian

These days, our knowledge of celebrities too often originates with paparazzi images and snarky quotes by anonymous "insiders." After a while, it's easy to forget that stars are real people. We decided to subject Bobby Brown to our #nofilter quick-fire question and answer series. Because how well do you know someone until they've shared their guiltiest pleasures?

Trouble doesn't faze Bobby Brown, the R&B singer, reality show star ("Being Bobby Brown") and former husband of Whitney Houston.

Singing in the boy band New Edition made him a music sensation, and hits like "My Prerogative" and "Every Little Step" during his successful solo career made Brown a household name. But, as of late, the singer's battle with substance abuse, including reports of two DUI arrests this year, has generated bigger headlines than his 2012 album, "The Masterpiece."

So while Brown was headed for the Palace of Auburn Hills in Detroit to play Friday evening's halftime show for the Detroit Pistons game vs. the Orlando Magic, he was also arranging to have an attorney present for his 8:30 a.m. arraignment Friday in Van Nuys, Calif.

That's because, for Brown, there's almost nothing that would keep him from being onstage -- even if that stage is actually a basketball court.

"'The Masterpiece' feels wonderful," he told HuffPost Detroit. "I just love performing this album, because the music is done by real musicians and all live singers."

And after 30 years in the music business, Brown says he still gets butterflies.

"I'm never nervous... well, actually, I can't say that. The nervous energy is in me. But I make it go away by just knowing that I'm going out there and I'm going to give my all. And hopefully the crowd is listening."

As long as they're listening, Brown says he'll keep going -- substance abuse issues be damned.

"I didn't think I'd make it to this age, you know," he said. "Every day, every year that God gives me, I'm grateful for. But I've always wanted to perform for the rest of my life. I'm still doing it. I'll continue doing it until I drop."
