Egg White Delight McMuffin: McDonald's Testing Lower Calorie Breakfast Item

It seems like you can't go out to brunch these days without someone in your party (or at the table next to you) ordering an egg white omelette. We get it -- you are concerned about your health, but we just have to throw it out there that sometimes sacrificing flavor is not worth it.

Now that we've gotten that rant off our backs, we hereby bring you the news that McDonald's is joining the sacrilegious brunch crowd and testing an egg white McMuffin. There seems to be some sort of Austin vs. Atlanta egg white battle brewing over which of the two cities is more wholesome (and thus has the better egg white McMuffin?). It may launch nationally in 2013.

The Egg White Delight McMuffin also contains Canadian bacon and white cheddar cheese, so the item isn't exactly diet-friendly. It boasts 260 calories rather than the original Egg McMuffin's 300.

Burger Business reports that the sandwiches are currently available for $1 in the aforementioned cities.
