Good news, 'Paranormal Activity' fans: Paramount Pictures has set a release date for the fifth iteration in the series.

Titled simply "Paranormal Activity 5," the film will hit theaters Oct. 25, 2013.

Since it first debuted in 2007, the "Paranormal Activity" franchise has been a major cash cow for Paramount, a factor that undoubtedly influenced the decision to make a fifth film. The series has grossed over $350 million in North America and over $700 million globally in the last five years.

"Paranormal Activity 4," which opened in October, made more than $30 million on its opening weekend. While this is a strong showing for a low-budget horror film, past "Paranormal" movies had even bigger debuts -- "Paranormal Activity 3" broke records by making $54 million in its opening weekend. In fact, "Paranormal Activity 4" earned just $53.4 million at the domestic box office, the lowest domestic tally for any film in the franchise's history by over $30 million.

Deadline.com first reported the news of a fifth film, then with a general release date of Halloween 2013.
