What better way to welcome 2013 than with a little "Call Me Maybe" sung live by Carly Rae Jepsen?
ABC has named the breakout pop star to the lineup for this year's "New Year's Rockin Eve." Once written-off as a one-hit wonder for her absurdly catchy song, "Call Me Maybe," Jepsen's successful collaboration with Owl City, "Good Time," and her follow-up single, "This Kiss," helped to keep the singer in the spotlight. Jepsen has been nominated for three People's Choice Awards, including "Favorite Breakout Artist," won the American Music Award for New Artist of the Year, and was nominated for two MTV Video Music Awards.
The celebration will be the first without iconic host Dick Clark, who died on April 18, 2012. Clark hosted his final New Year's Eve Celebration on Dec. 31, 2011 at the age of 82. Clark will be honored in a tribute show on New Year's Eve, airing at 8 p.m. ET. The show will be hosted by Fergie and Jenny McCarthy.
Ryan Seacrest, who began co-hosting the program with Clark in 2005, will lead this year's countdown show.
As reported earlier this month, Taylor Swift will headline "New Year's Rockin' Eve," with additional performances by Flo Rida, Neon Trees, and Pitbull.
