Alabama State University Officials Address President's Allegations, Deny Wrongdoing | Montgomery Advertiser

op officials at Alabama State University are denying allegations made by embattled university president Joseph Silver, who said he was asked to back off when he was close to some “long-standing bones.”

“These are some of the wildest allegations I have ever heard,” said executive vice president and chief operating officer John Knight, who said he was speaking on behalf of the administration.

Knight and Elton Dean, chairman of the ASU board of trustees, said Tuesday that Silver never talked to them and other officials about any findings of wrongdoing and that he did not mention it until he was being placed on leave by the board of trustees. Knight, also a state legislator, said Silver has an obligation to come forward if he has found anything.
