Paul Pierce Gets Ankles Broken By Joe Johnson, Jameer Nelson (VIDEOS)

Paul Pierce's Ankles Having Bad Week

Paul Pierce's ankles are having a rough week.

In Wednesday's game against Brooklyn, Pierce had some trouble defending Joe Johnson as the Nets began to pull away in the fourth quarter. Johnson got the ball on the wing and went through the legs, behind the back and kept the ball low to the floor, finishing Pierce off with a crossover that made him fall forward before nailing a 19-foot jumper as the shot clock expired.

Orlando's Jameer Nelson didn't need to do as much work to shake off Pierce on Sunday. Late in the fourth quarter, Nelson got the ball near the top of the key and made a quick fake to his right. The subtle move made Pierce completely lose his footing and fall flat on his back. Luckily for Pierce, it didn't matter as Nelson missed the long jumper off the front of the rim.

So that's two straight games in which Pierce has had his ankles broken. The Celtics play the Portland Trail Blazers next, fresh off becoming the first team to lose to the Washington Wizards. Will rookie Damian Lillard get the best of Pierce this time?
