YourHolidayMom.com Offers Messages Of Acceptance And Hope To LGBT Youth During The Holidays

LOOK: New Website Features Moms Offering Holiday Messages Of Acceptance For LGBT Youth

YourHolidayMom.com is a new website that features 40 moms (a few of them who are actually dads) with 40 messages of holiday hope and acceptance for all children who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or questioning.

The site's founder, Robin Rice, tells the Huffington Post that she knew there was a need, especially during the holidays, for LGBTQ youth who do not have family support. "Thirty years ago, I lost my little brother to suicide because he 'feared' he was gay. Today, I still feel that hole in my heart, and so I do whatever I can to support LGBTQ youth,” she says. “I started by giftingChristmas Stockings to LGBTQ shelters as a way to say I care, and then last year, I put out an audio recording called Your Holiday Mom. I knew we needed more than just one voice, so this year I asked for 40 moms to open their hearts. Supportive moms from all walks of life are out there and this is a story most don't hear. It's time they did."

Below, check out 10 messages from 9 moms and one dad, and then head to YourHolidayMom.com for more incredible messages of acceptance. A new mom (or dad) will be featured each day until January 1, 2013.
