George W. Bush 'Fired Up' About Becoming A Grandfather

: Bush Reacts To Big News

Former President George W. Bush said he's "fired up" about becoming a grandfather for the first time.

Jenna Bush Hager, former first daughter and a correspondent for NBC's "Today" show, announced Wednesday that she's pregnant.

"We're so excited and obviously nervous about it," Bush Hager said. "I'm a first time mom, but it's something I've always wanted."

The former president called into the show to talk about becoming a grandfather along with his wife Laura.

"I could barely contain the news when I found out, so now I can tell all my buddies," Bush said, also joking that he wanted his future grandchild to call him "sir."

"We're thrilled, we're just absolutely thrilled," the former first lady said.

This will be the first child for Hager and her husband Henry, who have been married for four years.
