'Storage Wars': Was Movie Memorabilia Planted?

Now that Dave Hester's lawsuit against A&E over "Storage Wars" has come to light, there will be a shadow of doubt cast over some of the show's rare and exciting finds. Take this week's installment, for example, that saw Brandi and Jarrod stumbling across a vest from the 1967 "Planet of the Apes" film.

They took the item to an expert, who said, "This is a rare find. You do not find original, 1967 'Planet of the Apes' artifacts in storage very often."

But did they find it? Hester claims that items like this are planted into the storage lockers to add dramatic effect. Hester says he was fired for complaining about these practices, and is seeking $3.5 million in damages.

TMZ reached out to the show's auction company who insists that the units and their contents are totally authentic.

Do you believe Hester? Does it impact your enjoyment of the show? "Storage Wars" continues on Tuesdays at 9 p.m. EST on A&E.
