The nominations for the 70th annual Golden Globe Awards have been announced and the Best Supporting Actress category includes some acting greats. The nominations were made public Thursday, Dec. 13.

The nominees for the Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress are Anne Hathaway for her role in "Les Miserables," Helen Hunt for "The Sessions," Sally Field for "Lincoln," Amy Adams for "The Master," and Nicole Kidman for "The Paperboy."

Octavia Spencer won the Best Supporting Actress award at last year's 69th annual Golden Globe Awards for her role in "The Help." Spencer beat out Bérénice Bejo for her role in "The Artist," Jessica Chastain for "The Help," Janet McTeer for "Albert Nobbs," and Shailene Woodley for "The Descendants."

Katina Paxinou nabbed the very first Golden Globe award for Best Supporting Actress for her 1943 performance in "For Whom the Bell Tolls." Other past winners include Goldie Hawn, Meryl Streep, Jessica Lange, and Julia Roberts.

The 70th annual Golden Globe Awards will take place on Jan. 13, 2013 at Beverly Hills' Beverly Hilton Hotel. "SNL" alums Tina Fey and Amy Poehler will host the awards.
