Game Of Thrones Beer Slated For Production By Brewery Ommegang

Game Of Thrones Official Beer Is Coming

What's more enjoyable than watching a titillating political drama set in the middle ages? Drinking the appropriately themed beer at the same time.

At least that seems to be the thought process of the marketing brains at HBO, who have decided to produce a line of beers inspired by the hit series "Game of Thrones." Rumors indicate the beers will be brewed via a partnership with New York's Brewery Ommegang.

According to The New York Times, the first beer, dubbed "Iron Throne Blonde Ale," will appear sometime in late March. The show's Season 3 premiere will air around the same time.

Three additional beer varieties are rumored to be in the works, with each release concurrent with new seasons of the show. A 750ml bottle will set buyers back $8.50, reports the A.V. Club.

This wouldn't be the first time fans have been excited by the prospect of "Game of Thrones"-branded beer. In May, graphic designer Rob Stephens put together a line of fictional beer labels for each of the series' houses, including "Lannister Gold," and "Tully's Riverrun Stout."
