Public Marriage Proposal: Man Pops The Question On A Billboard

A Minnesota man took his love public on Saturday with a larger-than-life marriage proposal.

Colin Buschette popped the question to girlfriend Brittany Stang with the help of a billboard on Highway 10 in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, that read (what else?) "Brittany Stang: Will You Marry Me?"

Buschette told local news station WDAY that his brother-in-law works for a billboard company, so he asked him to put up the sign on Saturday, complete with a photo of the couple. Later that day, Buschette took Stang for a drive and stopped in front of the billboard. (Click here to see the billboard and an interview with the couple).

"I looked up, and there it was. I just sat there and screamed for five minutes," Stang said. "Then he was like, 'Well..?' and I was like, 'Well, duh, yes!'"

The billboard, which will remain up for a week, now includes a smaller sign just below it: "She said yes!"

Buschette is lucky his proposal went off perfectly -- one unfortunate man accidentally spelled his girlfriend's name wrong when he tried to pop the question earlier this month.
