LeAnn Rimes Talks About How Her Affair Influenced Her New Album On 'The Tonight Show' (VIDEO)

LeAnn Rimes Says New Album Is About Her Affair

LeAnn Rimes once again opened up about the extramarital affairs that led to her current marriage. She and Eddie Cibrian both cheated on their then-spouses before ultimately getting divorces and marrying each other. All of this went down very publicly, and continues to stay in spotlight thanks to Rimes' latest appearance on "The Tonight Show."

Rimes isn't trying to hide from what happened. In fact, she took a very honest look at the whole situation and used it to fuel her latest album, "Spitfire." She talked to Jay Leno about her use of the word "pathetic" in the lead single, "Borrowed."

"I loved using that word. That’s the only way I knew how to describe myself, because at the moment I was pretty pathetic," she said. "It’s a very intimate look into a very rough moment in my life."

The affairs have also been a talking point on "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills," which features Cibrian's ex-wife, Brandi Glanville, among its cast. Rimes joked that she was "flattered" to be a storyline on the show.

Catch "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" every weeknight at 11:35 p.m. EST on NBC.
