Most Expensive Books Of 2012

Yesterday, AbeBooks released its list of the most expensive books they've sold this year.

They range greatly in topic. Some are serious religious tomes. Others are first editions of classics. The only thing these books seem to have in common is that they are all extremely rare.

The first place this year is occupied by Johann Bayer’s 1603 celestial atlas, which sold for $47,729. The second place went to an inscribed first edition of Ian Fleming's Casino Royale.

AbeBooks is an online market where readers and/or collectors can buy new, used, rare, and out-of-print books.
