Richard Harrow's 'Boardwalk Empire' Finale Rampage: Jack Huston Talks Season 3

Jack Huston Talks Harrow's 'Boardwalk Empire' Rampage

Two weeks after Richard Harrow went on a rampage and took out nearly all of Gyp Rosetti's men in the epic "Boardwalk Empire" Season 3 finale, Jack Huston reflected on the action in an interview with Vulture.

Huston confessed that he actually hasn't gotten to watch much of Season 3 of "Boardwalk Empire" because he's been busy filming David Chase's new film "Not Fade Away." But he said he was glad to get back in on "Boardwalk's" violent gangster action in the finale after Harrow spent much of the season taking care of Tommy Darmody and romancing Julia Sagorsky.

"Thank God for that last episode, right? I mean, I couldn't have gone with just killing Manny the whole season. No. Great to start it off, but then my kill count just stayed completely like nothing. It just flat-lined. And then boom! I got shot back into life. And then they gave me so many people to kill. They were like, 'We'll just save it up all season and then he can kill everybody.' So that was cool. And I thought the last scene was like 'The Searchers,' just kind of walking away, and now maybe he really feels like he has nothing to lose. He found love, he found the kid, he thought he found happiness, and, in my eyes, he realized that he can't have this. He can't have any semblance of a normal life."

Still, in an earlier interview with IndieWire, Huston said he was glad he got to explore Harrow's human side. "I have enjoyed it because it isn't something that we've done on the show. It's nice to take it in a different direction. Especially introducing Julia, the love interest, and my relationship with Tommy and Gillian and how that's progressed. I've enjoyed exploring this other side to Richard. It's something that I think a lot of people who watch the show wanted to see happen."
