'Nice Guys Of OKCupid' Tumblr Proves These Dudes Are Anything But

LOOK: Proof That 'Nice Guys' Aren't Nice At All

LIFE LESSON: If a man has to explicitly state that he's a "nice guy," he's probably not one. Nothing lends more credence to this idea than the "Nice Guys Of OKCupid" Tumblr. The blog showcases the shocking number of men on popular dating site OKCupid who have absolutely no idea what the word "nice" means.

The blog features photos and online dating profiles of men who profess to be "nice" and "decent" guys, and whine a whole lot about being "friendzoned," but who also write things like "I always think about how women are so superficial and disgusting" and "a No is just a Yes that needs a little convincing." "Nice" dudes, listen carefully: Telling women that they're vapid and gross and don't know what they want is the opposite of how you go about this whole dating/mating thing.

Besides the unlikeliness that these profiles will appeal to any female, the ones highlighted on "Nice Guys" reveal an appalling level bitterness toward and about women. Several of the men featured believe that there are "circumstances in which someone is obligated to have sex with me" and refer to women as "sluts," "bitches," and "fake ass girls." (Does this last guy feel girls are fake, or just their asses? Discuss.)

Several male commenters were not happy with the Tumblr. The creator of the Tumblr has been the subject of a plethora of ad hominem attacks -- "Gossip-sucking bore. You'll get a taste of humiliation and loneliness," one "nice" man wrote -- but a few of the responses from men have been more thoughtful. In response to one posting, which "Nice Guys Of OKCupid" captioned, "i hate being called an asshole for ditching a friend once i realised she wasn’t gonna let me into her pants," one commenter wrote: "God! It’s not always about sex! sometimes you just walk away because it hurts to much to be close. Men have emotions too, they aren’t sexually driven pigs dammit!"

Jezebel's Katie J.M. Baker wasn't sympathetic. She wrote: "Bros: you wrote your own burn book, now you have to lie in it."

What do you think? Is "Nice Guys Of OKCupid" giving dudes delusional about their own "niceness" and general appeal an overdue calling out? Or is it unfair to actual nice guys? Are the male commenters protesting nice guys or "nice guys"? Tell us in the comments and click over to "Nice Guys Of OKCupid" for more.
