Obama Announces Various Administration Appointments

President Barack Obama announced several appointments to administration posts on Friday.

Among the names listed were Mohamed A. El-Erian and Richard C. Blum. El-Erian was appointed Chair of the President’s Global Development Council. He is currently the Chief Executive Officer and Co-Chief Investment Officer of Pacific Investment Management Company LLC (PIMCO). Blum, who is the husband of United States Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), was appointed as a member of the President’s Global Development Council. He is Chairman of Blum Capital Partners, an equity investment management firm which he founded in 1975.

In total, Obama announced 14 appointments on Friday. The full list is below:

  • James M. Manyika - Member, President’s Global Development Council
  • William K. Reilly - Member, President’s Global Development Council
  • Steven Schwager - Member, President’s Global Development Council
  • Smita Singh - Member, President’s Global Development Council
  • Todd A. Fisher - Member, United States Holocaust Memorial Council
  • Robert A. Sherman - Member, United States Holocaust Memorial Council
  • Andrea Lavin Solow - Member, United States Holocaust Memorial Council
  • Michael Ashley Stein - Member, United States Holocaust Memorial Council
