'Sister Wives': Kody Gets In Trouble When He Drops The Word 'Obey' To His Wives (VIDEO)

'Sister Wives': Kody In Trouble Over The Word 'Obey'

There was a time when "obey" was a part of most women's wedding vows, but that time is not now. Still, when Kody Brown got a little tired during a road trip on "Sister Wives," he threw that expectation out there. Needless to say, it didn't go over all that well.

"I think that word, ‘obey,’ is in fact a four-letter word," his wife, Christine, told him. "For you to just throw out, 'I think you should obey me,' ... that’s offensive."

Kody explained it away as him being cranky from the long drive. "When I’m really grumpy it’s hard to sit here and try to sell everybody," he said. "'Can we all leave at the same time right now? Would that be OK with all of you?'"

Long nights of driving can be exhausting, but it's probably unlikely that Kody will be dropping that four-letter word any time soon, no matter how tired he is.

The Browns are members of the Apostolic United Brethren Church. While The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has officially rejected polygamy, the Brown family openly continues with the practice.

Kody tries to keep up with his "Sister Wives" every Sunday at 9 p.m. EST on TLC.
