Paul Edge, Chicago Sex Offender, Folds Woman's Laundry After Entering Her Home

A Chicago woman returned home on Christmas Day to an incredibly bizarre sighting: a stranger sitting on the floor of her home and folding her laundry.

According to the Chicago Tribune, Paul Edge, 58, was arrested with felony violation of sex offender registration and misdemeanor criminal trespass in the apparent break-in in the 4000 block of North Kilbourn Avenue.

The woman who, along with her fiance, discovered the man told the Tribune that Edge was "going through my laundry and folding my sports bra." He told police someone had let him into the home and asked him to do some cleaning.

Per the Illinois state sex offender database, Edge was previously convicted of aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a 15-year-old victim in Lake County. Edge was reportedly 51 at the time of the offense.

The break-in comes on the heels of another bizarre home intrusion: a Troy Township family in Chicago's southwest suburbs woke to discover burglar Daniel Bailey had snacked on a half-eaten coffee cake from their pantry, played a round of darts, plugged in the family's Christmas tree and turned on the television earlier this month.
