'Role Player' Norman Yee Off To SF Board - SFGate

In San Francisco's political world of big personalities and strict ideological alliances, Supervisor-elect Norman Yee stands apart.

The 63-year-old Board of Education president and San Francisco native has built a reputation over his eight years on the school board as a consensus builder who works hard but doesn't crave the spotlight. Yee, who grew up in Chinatown and started working at his parents' Noe Valley grocery store at the age of 8, said he will bring that same work ethic to the Board of Supervisors.
