Kim Kardashian Kids: Reality Star Has Wanted Children For A Long Time

Unless you've been living under a rock this morning, you are aware that Kim Kardashian is pregnant with Kanye West's baby.

Kim's entire family is thrilled by the news, and since she's wanted this to happen for so long, it makes it all the more special.

Shortly after the 32-year-old filed for divorce from husband of 72-days, Kris Humphries, she began to wonder if her dreams of having a family simply weren't in the cards.

"I believe in love and the dream of having a perfect relationship, but my idea of it has changed. I think I need to not live in a fairy tale like that. I think I maybe need to just snap out of it and be a little more realistic," she told Glamour in November 2011.

"At first I was like, I want six kids. Then I went down to four, then I was down to three, and now I'm like, maybe I won't have any. Maybe I'll just be a good aunt ... At this moment in my life, I feel like maybe I'm not supposed to have kids and all that," she said.

Of course, this was Kim's thought process before she and Kanye started dating in April. Though Kim is still in the middle of a long, drawn out divorce with Humphries, her relationship with Kanye progressed at lightening speed. The couple have been friends for more than 10 years, but reports the pair were thinking about starting a family began as early as June.

Back then, one of Kanye's friends told Us Weekly, the couple was "seriously talking marriage, and yes, she would [accept his proposal]," adding that the 35-year-old rapper, "can't wait to see her carrying his child. He says she will look beautiful pregnant."

Many have doubted the authenticity of the "Kimye" relationship, but a baby on the way would appear to cement what they've been saying all along -- they are totally, completely in love.

In September, Kardashian opened up about her relationship with Kanye West on “The View," and told the hosts she thought West was her “perfect match" and that he will in fact be around "permanently." The reality star made it clear that starting a family was in the future, telling the hosts, “Kids is definitely something I want, I think I wanted that before.”

By then we'd already gotten the impression that Kardashian was more than a little baby crazy -- especially when she took to Twitter to recount a conversation she had with her mother:
