Endurance Athletes Age Better

Endurance training not only protects against heart disease, it also appears to increase longevity, according to new research.

A study found that telomeres – a substance that adheres to chromosomes – are longer on people who have had endurance training. Previous studies have linked the length of telomeres to dementia – the longer the telomere, the better. But scientists aren’t yet certain of that.
