The Chicago run of the satirical Tony-winning Broadway musical "The Book of Mormon" has been a big hit since it opened last month -- so much so that the show has gotten a 14-week extension.
According to Broadway World, the production will now play at the Bank of America Theatre, 18 W. Monroe, through Sept. 8. Tickets through March 3 are sold out, though some tickets remain from March 5 to June 2.
The show, created by Trey Parker and Matt Stone of "South Park" fame, tells the story of two young Mormon missionaries assigned to northern Uganda. It has been so popular that it set a house record for the Bank of America Theatre after it grossed $1,645,201 over the week ending December 30 alone, NBC Chicago reports.
The Chicago Tribune reports that the show is eventually expected to continue its run in Chicago through at least January 2014.
