As the Detroit City Council today prepares to take up another round of cuts to pay and benefits for some city workers, those who have already endured hits say they don't know how much more they can take.

Far from the image of overpaid city employees are people like Detroiter Phyilis McMillon, 56, who made about $28,000 in 2012, including overtime, as a city parks maintenance worker, primarily on Belle Isle. She also is president of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees Local 542, a unit that represents mostly those who work for Detroit's General Services Department.
