Skate's Depressing 2012 Art Investment Report

Skate's has published the first part of its 2012 Annual Art Investment Report, which crunches the numbers from its Top 5000 ranking of the most valuable 5000 art works ever sold at auction. The total capitalization of art works in its ranking went up 9% in 2012, while the number of new artists appearing in the ranking fell to 38 in 2012 from 8
1 in 2011, confirming the rather depressing trend that wealthy buyers are buying more expensive art from a smaller selection of established names.
