Ken Brown's NYC: Artist's Portraits Of New Yorkers To Be Displayed At Tekserve (PHOTOS)

PHOTOS: Ken Brown's NYC

You might know Ken Brown from his animations on MTV and Sesame Street, or maybe from his cartoons from Funny Times. You might not know Brown, however, is also an avid photographer of everything New York City.

Camera in tow, Brown has been biking around the Big Apple and snapping portraits of New Yorkers for the past three decades. His subjects are portrayed with New York-y backdrops including street signs, storefronts, and graffiti.

Tekserve on 23rd Street, in celebration of its 25th anniversary, will feature Brown's work in an exhibit entitled "NYC Street Pop." The show runs until February 24th.

The opening is this Saturday from 1-3p.m. where Tekserve tells us they'll be serving "NYC-themed foods-chocolate egg creams, (using Gomberg's Seltzer-a 4 generation family firm that still delivers seltzer in the beautiful old glass bottles!) , bagels & cream cheese from Ess a Bagel, etc." They'll be live jazz and it's all open and free to the public.
