Ever received an eyeshadow or blush palette that was just too pretty to sweep with a brush? That's exactly how I felt when I got my hands on the NARS Andy Warhol collection. The bold compacts are a beautiful mashup between Warhol's iconic pop art and François Nars genius color schemes.
Glossedbones blogger Faiza bought the Debbie Harry Eye and Cheek Palette for her best friend and was inspired to create this Warhol nail art. The best part about doing this manicure, according to Faiza, was using a fun variation of nail polish colors she already owned. "Andy Warhol" design: Paint entire thumb nail in Misa I Will Survive and write artist's name on top using Essie Blanc.
Purple lips design: Apply OPI Pink Friday, then draw on the purple pucker in China Glaze Spontaneous and add detail with Essie Blanc.
Debbie Harry design: Polish entire nail in OPI The "It" Color before drawing on the music icon's face. Tip: It's easier to paint an image on your nails using soft, dotted strokes, then connect the dots and create more definitive strokes once you're satisfied. To recreate Harry's skin tone, mix a little of Essie Blanc and Jazz. Finish with a red lip in China Glaze China Rouge.
Purple Andy Warhol "Flowers" design: Start by adding a solid black base using Misa I Will Survive. Next, take a dotting tool or bobby pin to create the flowers with China Glaze Grape Pop. For the sharp, defining strokes use Essie Blanc.
Colorful Andy Warhol "Flowers" design: After allowing the black nail polish background to dry, draw on the bright flowers and recreate the grass with Essie Mojito Madness. A fine tipped nail art brush or toothpick works well.
