Do we smell another "Real Housewives" spinoff cooking? Perhaps, now that Georgia peach Kandi Burruss is engaged! The "Real Housewives of Atlanta" star and her line producer boyfriend, Todd Tucker, are getting hitched according to a report by US Weekly magazine.
Though the pair's relationship has unfolded on screen during season five of the show, their romance actually blossomed behind-the-scenes while filming the show's fourth season in 2011.
Tucker, 39, popped the question on New Year's Day (after seeking approval from Burruss' 10-year-old daughter, Riley) during a New Year's celebration with friends at the couple's home in Atlanta, US Weekly reports. And while RHOA fans may not be totally surprised, Burruss, 36, says she was.
She took to Twitter Tuesday to express thanks for the outpouring of congrats she and Todd received from friends and fans, followed by another message of thanks that read: "Dear God, I wanna take a minute, not to ask anything from you, but to simply say thank you, for all I have."
While Burruss' love life has enriched her RHOA storyline this year, it did in previous episodes as well. Viewers watched Burruss' rocky engagement to former fiancé, Ashley "A.J." Jewell, unfold during her first season on the show, a relationship that ended tragically when Jewell was killed in October 2009.
And Burruss isn't the only one heading to the altar in the near future. In an interview with late-night host Jimmy Fallon, RHOA co-star Nene Leakes revealed that she and ex-husband Gregg Leakes are making amends. The couple also got (re)engaged on New Year's Eve amid what Nene hinted to be a romantic scene of rose petals and champagne.
Now, if only Kenya Moore could find the same luck -- the circle of married, drama-filled, gone-with-the-wind fabulousness would be complete!
