Redesigned New York Times Hits Newsstands

The New York Times debuted a subtle redesign on Tuesday.

According to a Times press release published by journalism blogger Jim Romenesko, the newspaper is redesigning its features sections in print. "The redesign, which began today with Tuesday’s 'Science Times,' will continue to roll out this week with each day’s feature sections, from Wednesday’s 'Dining' to Sunday’s 'Arts & Leisure,'" the Times wrote.

News presentation editor Patrick LaForge tweeted a photo of the redesigned Science section.

Times design director Tom Bodkin said of the redesign, "The goal was not to create an entirely new look, but to develop a more coherent, accessible, underlying structure across all sections."

Additionally, the Times' popular wedding section "Vows" has been turned into a standalone package within the paper's Sunday "Styles" section.
