'The Walking Dead' Deaths: More Season 3 Bloodshed Ahead

"The Walking Dead" will see more deaths during Season 3. Co-executive producer and VFX designer Greg Nicotero told reporters that Season 3 will see the show lose more cast members at the Golden Globes.

"We've established a certain scenario on our show where nobody is safe -- and certainly in the back-half of our season, it doesn't get easy for anybody," Nicotero said, according to The Hollywood Reporter. "We have the whole Woodbury community with the Governor (David Morrissey) and our principal cast. We'll probably end our season minus a cast member or two."

So far, Season 3 has seen the departure of Sarah Wayne Callies -- better known to fans as Lori Grimes -- and IronE Singleton, who played T-Dog.

"We talk about everyone's demise to the chagrin of all of the actors," Glen Mazzara, "Walking Dead" showrunner, told HuffPost TV in October prior to the Season 3 premiere. "All I can promise is there will be major character deaths throughout Season 3, but I can't possibly say who or where, but I guarantee all of them will be surprising."

AMC renewed "The Walking Dead" for a fourth season, but with the departure of Mazzara. The showrunner who took over for series creator Fran Darabont early in Season 2 will be replaced by Scott Gimple for Season 4. According to a statement from AMC and Mazzara, the split was mutual, but many insiders have painted a different picture.

Mazzara was reportedly forced out by "The Walking Dead" comic creator and series executive producer Robert Kirkman. "I believe Robert wants to maintain a certain amount of his control, and AMC needs Robert for the fan base," a source told THR.

"The Walking Dead" returns with new episodes on Sunday, Feb. 10 at 9 p.m. EST on AMC.
