Ex-psychiatric Hospital Could Become A Nerve Center For Traverse City's Local-food Movement

From Insane Asylum To Local Foods Hub

Back in 1885, a building in Traverse City that was built more like a fortress housed the Michigan Asylum for the Insane. Later, in more linguistically sensitive times, it was renamed the Traverse City Regional Psychiatric Hospital.

Now, if plans pan out, it might become the centerpiece of the region's local-food movement.
