As reported by CBS and AP, the state's Democratic senators are teaming up with Dianne Feinstein to propose a new federal assault weapons ban today.
The ban would limit ammunition magazine to 9 rounds each.
In the meantime, members of Connecticut's state legislature are getting ready to discuss some proposals of their own. A bipartisan task force on school safety and gun violence has launched a website where readers can submit testimony. A series of public hearings has been scheduled for the end of the month.
