"Necessary Roughness" picked up the action about a month after it left off for the mid-season premiere. A month after that surprise kiss between Dani and Nico, that is. Even though it's been a month, the kiss didn't offer Dani any more clarity as to what she should do now. In fact, it pushed her into therapy herself.
"What scares me is that I’m caught between the man that I love," Dani explained to her therapist, played by Peter MacNicol. "And the man that I am dangerously attracted to." She basically said she feels stuck in between them.
Nico is exciting and dangerous, while her heart still belongs to Matt. But she and Matt are nowhere close to on the same page, which makes Nico look even more attractive in the now.
Elsewhere, Juliette decided to take up the torch from her father and run the team, which should make for some very interesting moments as she figures things out. TK is enjoying his one month of sobriety, and even had the humility to mentor a new up-and-comer with a very familiar oversized ego in Kittridge.
