'Twisted': ABC Family Orders New Series, Jennifer Lopez's 'The Fosters'

ABC Family Orders J. Lo's Show About Lesbian Moms

"Twisted" and "The Fosters" are joining ABC Family's lineup of original shows. The network ordered both pilots to series.

"ABC Family is synonymous with groundbreaking storytelling and iconic characters," Michael Riley, president of ABC Family, said in a statement. "These new shows will bring the same depth, heart, close relationships and authenticity that our viewers have come to expect and, will pair nicely with our already established pop culture hits."

"Twisted," a one-hour mystery, follows a 16-year-old with a troubled past who reconnects with his two best friends from childhood. However, it's not all happy reunions as the young man becomes the prime suspect in a murder when a student is found dead in her home. Avan Jogia stars opposite Maddie Hasson, Kylie Bunbury, Kimberly Quinn, Sam Robards, Ashton Moio and Denise Richards.

"The Fosters" stars Teri Polo, Sherri Saum, Jake T. Austin, Hayden Byerly, David Lambert, Danny Nucci, Cierra Ramirez and Maia Mitchell. The series from executive producer Jennifer Lopez follows a multi-ethnic family with foster and biological kids being raised by two moms.

Both shows are expected to premiere this summer.
