Did you notice a lot of people wearing red last Friday? There was actually a very good reason for that. February marks “Heart Health Month” and supporters across the country celebrated its kickoff with a #GoRed campaign. One big advocate for Heart Health is Tr3s fave Roselyn Sanchez, who is continuing the good gesture with a special event in New York.
To help kick off NY Fashion Week, Sanchez participated in The Heart Truth runway show. Aimed specifically at women, the event helped to raise awareness about cardiovascular diseases. And as Roselyn told reporters, that subject is very dear to her.
“It’s super important to raise awareness among women of the terrible disease which is heart problems,” she said. “It’s a silent disease where one doesn’t know when it will explode,”
Sanchez also helped promote the cause within the Hispanic community. Amazingy, heart disease is one of the leading killers of American Latinos. You can find out more about risks and preventative tactics at the official AHA website.
