Drake's "Take Care" took home the Grammy for Best Rap Album at the 2013 awards, beating out Lupe Fiasco's "Food & Liquor II," Nas' "Life Is Good," The Roots' "Undun," Rick Ross' "God Forgives, I Don't" and 2 Chainz' "Based on a T.R.U. Story."
The Toronto native recently released a new single, "Started From the Bottom." The track was originally slated for a Grammy night debut, but it seems Drake was wise not cause any distractions on the important night.
Despite being nominated 10 times at previous Grammy Awards, he had yet to win a trophy until Sunday's telecast. This year, he was also nominated for Best Rap Performance ("HYFR") and Best Rap Song ("The Motto").
Nas was probably the slight favorite in pre-awards speculation, if only for his reputation as a classic rapper. Last year, Kanye West's "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy" took home the award.
Winning a Grammy continues to be a big deal: According to the Recording Academy, the 2012 award telecast counted 39.9 million viewers -- the largest TV audience for the event since 1984. An average of 160,341 tweets per minute were fired off during last year's broadcast.
Kanye West led the 2012 Grammy winners with 10 each.

This amalgam of rockers and hip-hop stars perform "No Sleep Till Brooklyn" to honor the late MCA. CBS, however, cuts them off with an rundown of the night's sponsors. Classy.
