'Bones': Brennan Gets Shot, Has A Near-Death Experience With Her Mother (VIDEO)

'Bones': Brennan Has A Near-Death Experience

There was a terrifying moment for Brennan on this week's "Bones," as she was working late at The Jeffersonian. She stormed out after an argument with Booth and went to log in some extra hours examining the bones for their latest case. Out of nowhere, a shot rang out and Brennan was down.

While Booth was working desperately to find her killer, Brennan was sharing a strange existential experience with her late mother in some sort of after-life limbo. Or maybe she was just hallucinating. Either way, her mother encouraged her to get more in touch with her emotional side.

It all tied back to the case, too. Brennan's shooter was trying to stop her from finding out how the victim she was examining was killed as it would reveal a counterfeiting ring.

What's far more interesting though, is what Brennan took out of her experience. Will she believe it was some sort of after-life experience? Will she come to be more open to more existential and spiritual possibilities?

Keep watching "Bones" on Mondays at 8 p.m. EST on Fox to find out.
