Jake Tapper's CNN Show: 'The Lead' Will Air At 4 P.M.

Jake Tapper's new show on CNN will be called "The Lead."

"For those catching the new CNN promo that's right our new show will be called "The Lead," Tapper tweeted on Tuesday.

More details about the new show have emerged as the premiere date gets closer. CNN recently announced that "The Lead" will debut in the 4 p.m. timeslot on March 4, with Federico Quadrani — who has served as executive producer for "The Daily Rundown" and MSNBC's weekend programming — as Tapper's executive producer.

Tapper also hinted at the show's format in an interview with Variety. "If you picture a great front page of a newspaper, you see six or seven stories that you really want to read, from international news, politics, business, sports and pop culture," he told the publication. "That is basically the goal of the show, to have a very broad swath of stories of interest to the viewers."

The former ABC News correspondent joined CNN as its chief White House correspondent earlier this year, and made his debut on the network in January.
