Khloe Kardashian Fired? 'X Factor' Host Reportedly Given The Boot (VIDEO)

Khloe Kardashian may have been handed her walking papers.

The New York Post reports that Kardashian has been fired from "The X Factor" after just one season.

“They are asking Mario [Lopez] to come back, but not Khloe,” a source told the Post.

The newspaper notes that Kardashian took on the hosting duty, opposite "Extra TV" veteran Mario Lopez, with no prior experience under her belt. On-camera jitters reportedly got Kardashian fired.

A Fox representative declined to comment on the matter when contacted by The Huffington Post.

But an "X Factor" rep said that rumors of Kardashian's firing are premature.

“The producers have not yet made the talent decisions for this year,” a rep said in a statement to Entertainment Weekly.

The 28-year-old, who has been featured on E!'s "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" since 2007, previously admitted that she struggled with live TV.

"Just learning how there's a screaming audience and you don't yell because the mic is right there," she explained to HuffPost Live last month. "I will have an earpiece in my ear, and while I'm trying to read the teleprompter then I have someone counting down ... and they're like, 'Okay, ask Simon this or that' ... There were so just so many pieces I never knew were involved in live TV."

Kardashian's alleged firing comes just a month after Britney Spears confirmed she will not return to the judging table next season. L.A. Reid also announced his departure in December.

Entertainment Weekly notes that "X Factor" ratings were down during Season 2, and sources claim that producers are looking to cut the show's budget. Salaries take up a big chunk, and only one host is really necessary for such a singing competition. (Anyone remember Brian Dunkleman?)

UPDATE: Kim Kardashian has denied her sister's "X Factor" axing, telling TMZ, "A lot of people say a lot of incorrect things on the daily." When asked what did happen behind the scenes of the Fox show, she responded, "Probably nothing."

According to TMZ, "X Factor" sources say that Cowell "believes Khloe is definitely strong in certain areas ... and not strong in others," and that no decisions have been made about the host's fate yet.
